Model Highlights

The 2019 Volkswagen Passat is offered in two trim levels; Wolfsburg Edition and SE R-Line. The only engine option is a turbocharged 2.0L TSI (2.0T) 4-cylinder engine makes 174 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, while providing an EPA estimated 36 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Passat base trim is now known as the Wolfsburg Edition, replacing the outgoing S trim. The Wolfsburg Edition comes standard with a 6.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring App-connect and SiriusXM satellite radio. The new infotainment system is borrowed from last year's R-Line trim and represents a pretty big step up from what was previously available on the base model. The Wolfsburg trim also comes standard with 17-inch wheels, keyless entry and push button start, leatherette seating surfaces, a leather wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and heated side mirrors. The Wolfsburg Edition is also available with a wheel and roof package which gives the Passat a more aggressive look with 18-inch wheels and a sunroof. The SE R-Line trim, looks even more aggressive with standard LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and 19-inch wheels. Other standard features on the SE R-Line trim include an upgraded media entertainment system with standard navigation, nicer ambient lighting, an easy open trunk, adaptive cruise control, a lane keep assist system, park distance control and a Fender premium audio system. All Passat models include six standard airbags, including side-curtain airbags that cover front and rear occupants, plus standard electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes and hydraulic brake assist. Available advanced safety technologies include a lane departure warning, frontal collision warning with emergency braking and a blind-spot monitor.
